The Plaster House in Arusha, Tanzania, a program of the Arusha Lutheran Medical Center, provides several phases and processes in the journey of transformational healing and life-changing experiences to some of the most vulnerable children in Tanzania.
1) Outreach: Educating communities across Tanzania about disabilities and the treatments available. 2) Preoperative Care: Tailored preoperative and therapeutic programs, nutritious meals, education, and play to give children the strength they need for successful treatments. 3) Surgical Care: Advocating for the children, communicating with the doctors, and involving the parents ensure that the child never feels alone as they receive the best possible care. 4) Rehabilitation: Managing all postoperative medical needs, while still delivering the intangibles of childhood through learning, nutrition, and play. |
